Kingjoy C83S Travel/Compact Tripod

The latest addition to the C series tripods, this is the most compact and versatile yet. Similar to the C83, the C83S includes a removable centre column, boosting the max working height, but without sacrificing the lowest working height and only adding an extra 200g to the weight. The centre column can be easily removed and reattached in the field without any tools – simply twist the hook at the base and it comes free.

If you are looking for the ultimate travel tripod then you’ve found it. Many travel tripods excel in one aspect but at the expense of performance in other areas. The C83S is rock solid, even when working in the wind, is easy to set up and collapse, is built to last, offers a reasonable working height variance, and is designed to be as compact as possible when folded. This makes it easy to put into a bag or suitcase when flying or travelling.

Made from 10x carbon fibre layers and aviation grade alloy, this tripod is built to last, despite being used in extreme environments such as high/low temps, dusty/sandy locations, salt water and all kinds of weather. It has seals on all the leg joints which help to keep out dirt and water, but it’s super easy to clean if you do get any contaminants in the twist locks.

The C83S comes with a new design of ball head which is 150g lighter than its predecessor. This comes at the cost of losing the pan motion on the top plate, so panning needs to be done at the bas of the head. This means that you need to ensure the tripod is level if you intend on doing an panning where the horizon has to stay true. The upside is that it saves an extra few grams on the overall weight.
